Top 5 seafood items

Seafoods are found in huge variety and it is difficult to decide which one is your favourite. There are some seafood dishes that we consume more often while some others that we consume very rarely. The preparation techniques of seafood dishes are a whole lot different from our everyday dishes. If you are into cooking and even more into seafood items like king crab legs, shrimps, clams etc., you should checkout some of these popular seafoods that you should know as a seafood enthusiast.


Vietnamese Shrimp Salad: if you are looking for a tasty, mouth watering light meal, the Vietnamese Shrimp Salad would be the ideal choice. It is more of a cold noodle salad and is generally served as a main course. Sometimes, it also serves as an appetizer of sort. It comprises a blend of shrimp, peanuts and cucmbers. Some like to take it without peanuts as well if they are allergic to them.

Linguine with Clams: These are made using fresh clams. Although fresh clams would cost you more than frozen ones, you will come to realize that it was worth every penny. Not just that, the clam is the only thing that would cost you something; other ingredients used in preparing this are quite inexpensive. Some people also consume this dish with tomato, broccoli, rabe sauteed and garlic.

Halibut with Fennel: The Halibuts are known for their buttery meat. They taste great even without using too much ingredients. Coupled with aromatic Fennel, Halibut acquires a royal taste that would tingle anyone’s palate. Fishing for Pacific Halibut is strictly limited. These creatures are generally found in Alaska and the west coast of Canada. You can also add rice pilaf and beans to accompany it.

Black and Blue Texas Redfish
The black and blue Texas redfish is found mainly in the Gulf of Mexico. The fish has a firm texture which is softened using blackened seasoning. The fish is then placed on onions dipped in sherry and then some blue cheese butter is poured on its top.

Seafood chowder
Clams, monkfish or crabs are generally used in preparing seafood chowder. Salad and some crusty French baguette or even sourdough can be used in the preparation. The preparation can take about 15 minutes after which you can set it on the oven and sit back and relax for half an hour when the dish is ready to be served.

Grilled Jumbo Shrimp
The grilled jumbo shrimp should be prepared very carefully. Do not lift your eye from it when its cooking as shrimps cook quite fast. If you fail to watch out for it, you might end up with a rubbery shrimp, which is how they feel when overcooked.
